Prosthetic legs today are designed to fulfill the basic mechanical needs of amputees and those born without legs. But what about aesthetics, users' life style, satisfaction, and social acceptance? Understanding the body anatomy is crucial, but more importantly 'Uncanny Valley' should be avoided. This project involved considerations in fashion, human physiology, materials, co-branding, biomedical engineering, target user and technology to suggest a visually pleasing product that can be a tunring point to re-consider the utilitarian look.
We talked to amputees (lost leg due to accident or illness), and prosthesis manufacturer to understand the current situation and issues, then 3D scanned our model's lower body, and used the data for 3D modeling.

Giant Eagle is one of the nation's largest food retailers and food distributors. Giant Eagle's shopping cart, however, does not present the company's identity nor provide the best shopping experience. Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of Master engineering students, we redesigned a local food retailer’s shopping cart and broader shopping experience based on the observation of customers’ behavior, interviews, and defined value proposition.
