Talking about LA, there is no way I will get the real information from the web or talks. We all know about Hollywood, palm trees, celebs, multi-culture, traffics, air quality, taco trucks, beaches… and so on, but what are the real LA story that can come out from a spectator like me?
I decided to go out for a little field trip. I walked down the Wilshare st, where I do not know much about. Then, I drove from Wilshare to Beverly Hills and took bunch of pictures, half of which are taken without my attention, and found these.
How about the other side of LA? Many things co-exist in this city: voices, listeners, creative works—movies, gift shops that sell junks, illegals, foreigners, LA natives, families, many cultures whether it is high or low, many types of jobs, even porn stars, many talents— one of best colleges, many classes—rich, poor, pretenders, many standards… but These can be found in any other city as well.
I am afraid to say what I heard and found were mix of negative and positive: Liberal irresponsibility vs. rulers, gleeful effects, extravaganza, childishly exuberant cliche, stories and problems with histories. And came up to this conclusion: There is no one story for Los Angeles. They all live together.
LA, we do not have enough water. City encourages people to redesign the garden with native, drought resistant plants, but do people care? Not really much. Hence we see all these sprinklers early in the morning.

Everybody wants a little piece of our celebs; they are the source for our gossip, entertainment, and our responsibility as fashion copycats.
Clear sky, very few clouds. Period.
Public transportation madness: unlike NYC, DC, or SF, Metro is not utilized well. Should we blame GM for buying off the public streetcar system and dumping them off? Whatever the truth is, people are struggling and will be.

As a nerd, with a comforting sense of humor, I appreciate those who proclaims oneself a nerd. I love whimsical, contradictory, and fun things that tell stories. However, irresponsible designs with “I am cool because I am cool” attitude do not interest me. + Due to my sensitive nose, I have no choice but being alert to things additional to my visual senses. + Sewing is a mental cleansing process; it is better than dish washing. I have to focus not to sew my fingers to the fabric, and listen to the machine all the time. Digits, ears, and eyes create the perfect trinity.
The message here is “about me”: Thread color is the same as the tea, after brewing, name disappears, yet name is brewed; “I am the Tea.”
